Clap collects no data.

Effective October 21, 2026. This policy covers the Clap app for iPhone and iPad, published by DM Solutions and Development LLC.

There’s no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The only time the app goes online is to ask Apple’s App Store about your Clap Pro subscription.

What stays on your phone

The slate you fill in (production, director, scene, take and the rest), your productions and your shot logs are saved on your phone so they’re there next time you open Clap. They never leave your phone unless you choose to export a camera report or shot log and share it, for example by email or to Files. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Sound and motion

Clap plays its clap sound and reads the angle of iPhone Duo’s hinge to know when the phone is shut. It doesn’t use the microphone or camera, and the hinge readings are used only while the app is open and aren’t stored.

Clap Pro

Clap Pro, the subscription with its free trial, is bought and managed through your Apple Account. Apple handles the payment, and the app asks the App Store whether your subscription is active. We don’t receive your payment details or your Apple Account information, and we keep no record of your purchases.

Third parties

Clap includes no third-party code that collects data, and we don’t sell, share or receive any information about you.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising.

Children

Clap is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
